Johnny Depp in the next Batman Movie?!?!

If you’re anything like us, you’re a big nerd. But more implicitly, you’re also into comic books, and the blockbusters (ugh, i hate that word.) that are released around them. And if you’re anything like us, you’re also constantly wondering about how a superhero film might live up to, or die falling from, your expectations. So when you see things like X-Men Origins: Wolverine, you know its not a Wolverine movie without Sabertooth, Likewise, the Batman is nothing without his Joker, and if Superman doesn’t weaken at the sight of Kryptonite, then the Avengers movie won’t have Captain America.

What I’m trying to say is, as nerds, we hold lore very close to our hearts.

I recently had this conversation with some coworkers about who might be the next villain/villainess in the next Batman movie. We debated the merits of various actors, and the roles for which they were best tailored. Philip Seymour Hoffman would play an intelligent and jaded Penguin. Johnny Depp would make a delightfully riotous Riddler. And, I’m just throwing this one out there, Cameron Diaz would make quite the Harley Quinn. So I’m posing this question to anyone with an inkling. Which villains would you expect to see i the next Batman movie, and who would play them?
