Secondary Fire Oddcast – Friday, October 31 2008
Instead of trick or treating with the other 12 year olds, Amrit and Jon wax about the upcoming Xbox 360 Fall Dashboard update. Along with the batmen, jokers, and other super heroes out and about getting candy, we also discuss our love for Spiderman Web of Shadows in great depth. We also debate the Wii’s role in the mainstream video game market, and shovel ware. Hold onto your nads, it’s a very serious podcast this week.

I like it.
That makes ….. two. Two listeners… ah-ah-aaaah.
Hey guys,
Trev tells me you were pretty pissed about the iTunes review. I was just having some fun with ya, dudes! I even gave you a five star rating. Why complain about a five star rating? Also – I’m not sure if you read it, but it was really funny. Apology accepted.
Anyhow – I listen to upwards of two dozen podcasts a week, and I really like the banter you guys have. I’m not sure if it’s really worth covering gaming news however, as it’s not like you guys are really weekly. Additionally, news is something other people are doing, and are doing better. I don’t care how awesomely smart and articulate you dudes are – you’re not competing with the 1up podcasts, so why try?
Do yourselves a favor and stick with a “wacha been playin’” sort of format, because I think that would be better suited for your intended audience. The best part of your podcast is when you go off topic and start talking about random gaming shit. So why not mainly talk about random gaming shit?
If I’m visiting your site, it’s safe to assume I know about the fall update. So don’t bother going through the bullet points and just tell me why you’re excited. It was cool when you were talking about Trev’s E-penis and gave your take on Force Unleashed. That shit was funny.
“Mid-flight, mid-combo, switch to the black suit and just mash ‘em up. That’s so crazy.”
Amrit said this half way through the podcast regarding Web of Shadows. I could hear how excited he was, which was entertaining. I responded to his excitement, and started enjoying myself. Physically.
Contrast this against the dashboard update stuff, and it’s like Amrit’s a completely different person. He was so subdued and unexcited. That shit makes me a sad panda.
Your banter is the highlight of the show. Focus on banter – it is funny. Way funnier than the act of describing a Robot Chicken sketch. Lay off the inside sort of jokes – because your banter is waaaaay better than Amrit’s half explanations and Jar-Jar impression. Please Amrit, never do another Jar Jar impression.
But it’s honestly funny when someone makes borderline homoerotic remark, followed by awkward silence, then laughter.
Your volume is all over the place some times.
And I’m pretty sure Web of Shadows has the same sort of web mechanics as the Xbox game of the second Spiderman movie. So I don’t think that’s a first. Also – was Friend or Foe released for 360? What did that do?
Anyhow dudes – keep up the good work. Maybe I’ll see you playin’ Gears, Amrit. Jon – add me if you want – WpnX.
THAT IS ALL!
Now that was some serious commenting goodness there, thanks Bill! Lotta good insight there, really makes ya think….
Oh and btw that wasn’t me doing a Jar Jar impression, we actually had Jar Jar on the program, thats how he talks now, he had a stroke a couple months ago after reading his 1 millionth hate mail
and everyone can laugh at that.
I thought it was the real Jar Jar, that impression was tooooooo good.
But seriously – stop it.
;-p
